Bangkok, Thailand
A city of vibrant street markets, mind-blowing street food, and now, for me, home to one of the most intense gym vibe experiences I've had in a while...
Muscle Factory
2 ซอย สุขุมวิท 56 แยก 3-1 Phra Khanong Tai, Phra Khanong, Bangkok 10260
📍 Google Maps: Muscle Factory
First Impressions: Not Your Typical Fitness Playground
Let’s cut to the chase - Muscle Factory isn’t trying to be pretty.
It’s raw, it’s real and it’s unapologetically hardcore.
Tucked away in a somewhat residential part of the city, this gym feels like you’ve stepped into a fitness battleground.
The Space: Functional Over Fancy
Walking in, you’re immediately hit with the smell of pure determination and maybe a bit of old sweat.
It is hot and stuffy. There is no air conditioning, just huge roof fans doing their best to push the hot air around. On a Bangkok afternoon, they don’t really stand a chance.
The space is jam-packed with lifting equipment and a huge variety of machines.
Honestly, it almost looks like someone bought every gym machine they could find and squeezed them all into one warehouse.
In some cases, there are multiple machines from different brands offering the same movement. There are old-school metal plates, plenty of dumbbells and, of course, fitness influencers filming everywhere.
Equipment: Quantity Over Quality
If you’re into strength training, Muscle Factory will blow your mind.
The equipment includes:
Multiple plate-loaded machines, often with different versions of each
Plenty of squat racks and power racks
A dedicated powerlifting section
Truck tyres, jumping boxes and a farmer’s carry rack
A full boxing and Muay Thai ring with training equipment
The variety is insane. You could train every muscle group in multiple ways and still not touch everything this gym has to offer.
But quantity doesn’t always mean quality.
Many of the machines are old and rusty, and some look like they need more maintenance. Some of the cables are rusty, clips can be broken and the mind-muscle connection on quite a few of the machines just didn’t hit the mark for me.
Personally, I’d rather have half the number of machines if they all performed really well.
What It Felt Like to Train Here
What surprised me most was the diverse crowd.
Local Thai bodybuilders train alongside expats, digital nomads and travelling fitness enthusiasts.
I did however, genuinely enjoy training here. I loved the vibe, the variety of equipment and the desire it gave you to go hard during every workout.
The atmosphere is infectious. Everyone seems to be on a mission, and there’s something incredibly motivating about training in a space where people are pushing their limits.
But it is a sweatbox. No matter what time of day you visit, those roof fans just can’t compete with the Bangkok heat.
By the end of every workout, I was absolutely drenched!
I can see why this place has such a reputation. You’re surrounded by people who aren’t just working out—they’re there to train. That energy is hard not to feed off.
Communication
The staff can understand and speak English.
On the gym floor, you’ll hear a variety of languages being spoken, which adds to the international feel of the gym.
Membership and Pricing
When I visited, the available prices were:
Day pass: 400 THB
Weekly pass: 999 THB
Monthly membership: 1,990 THB
If you’re only planning to train here for one day, it’s expensive!
A weekly or monthly pass offers much better value. Your membership is also loaded into the system using facial-recognition entry, which is pretty damn cool and saves you from carrying a membership card.
Food and Protein Options
The take-home food options are a definite win.
There’s a good selection of high-protein meals that you can heat up and eat on-site or take home with you. They can also make you a protein smoothie after your workout.
Muscle Factory Pros

International crowd

And one that could be either a pro or a con—it’s a fitness influencer playground.
Muscle Factory Cons
It is hot!
No air conditioning, although there are huge roof fans
The Bangkok heat can make training tough
It may feel intimidating for complete beginners—but that’s part of the fun. Don’t be scared!
The day pass is expensive
This is not a luxury gym experience
Many of the machines are old
Some machines have poor biomechanics compared with newer equipment
Dead spots through the movement on some machines
Some cables are rusty and clips can be broken
There are no showers, only toilets
Muscle Factory Gym Rules

It goes without saying, but bring your own towel and water, always wipe down the equipment after using it and follow the in-house gym rules.
My Final Thoughts
Muscle Factory isn’t for everyone.
If you’re looking for a spa-like fitness experience with yoga classes and luxury changing facilities, keep walking. But if you want a genuine, no-bullshit place to push your limits, this is your gym. Muscle Factory Bangkok is more than a gym, it is an experience.
Would I recommend it?
For the experience, 100% yes. Everyone should check this gym out at least once.
But maybe get the weekly pass to make it more affordable, because the day pass is a killer on the wallet.
And if you’re a fitness influencer, you absolutely want to be seen here.
But are there better gyms in Bangkok? Yes.
There are gyms with better prices, better-performing equipment, air conditioning, showers and proper changing facilities and they may also be closer to where you’re staying.
