Hulk Style at Naomi Gym (Kiến Gym)

Naomi Gym (Kiến Gym) Review: The ultimate hardcore training spot in Da Nang Vietnam to train Hulk style.

Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng, Vietnam

First Impressions

Nestled in Da Nang's Ngu Hanh Son district, this local gym is walkable if you want to get your steps in or catch a short Grab ride. As you enter, the Hulk's motivational wall art and a no-frills 🥵 sweaty atmosphere presents the attitude of game on. This space offers a genuine training experience focused on what matters most - getting an effective training session done.

The Space

The gym has a two-floor layout with most upper body equipment downstairs and lower body upstairs. Despite equipment showing its age, the selection does includes:

·      Squat racks

·      Deadlift platform

·      Hack-squat, smith machine, a couple of different angle leg press machines

·      Functional/calisthenics area with pull-up rigs and monkey bars

·      Sledge for leg training

·      Complete dumbbell set (some showing wear and rust just like the rest of the place)

Atmosphere

While it was a predominantly male gym, don't be scared my girlfriends. If I can walk into any gym in the world and do my thing, so can you! This gym maintains a notably respectful atmosphere where everyone focuses on their training goals. In fact, I found the environment friendly and encouraging, and the acknowledgement of the warm climate supports a "tops off" policy which everyone respects. 🫠

 Pricing

·      Day Pass: 40,000 VND

·      Monthly Membership: 300,000 VND

Prices current at time of writing - please check directly with gym for latest information

My Verdict

Pros

·   Excellent value

·   Comprehensive strength equipment

·   Welcoming, respectful atmosphere

·   Well-organized layout

·   Friendly, inclusive environment

Cons

·   Limited air conditioning

·   Some aging equipment

·   Can get very warm during workouts

·   Weight plate organization needs improvement

Would I Recommend It?

Now first I must say this is no Virgin Active Gym, in fact fun fact... I have never stepped inside a Virgin Active Gym... way too fancy for me. And if you are catching my vibe from most of my reviews... I would pick a sweaty hardcore gym that offers a fair price any day. No disrespect to the cardio bunnies but I come to get it done.

So if this gym is close to your accommodation or a grab away... I absolutely recommend it for strength training enthusiasts who appreciate a basic, authentic setup. Not recommended if you're seeking modern amenities or extensive cardio options.

Must dos:

Goes without saying.... but I will say it anyway. Bring your own towel, bring water (lots of it!), and always wipe the equipment after you have used it. And follow the inhouse rules always! 💪 🙏

PS: there is a super cheap bakery across the road for something to refuel.
