Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
A city known for its motorbikes, street food, constant movement and, as I discovered, some very affordable places to train.
C’Gym Huyền Trân Công Chúa is one of those places.
It’s small, local and basic, but it has everything you need for a straightforward workout in the middle of District 1.
C’Gym Huyền Trân Công Chúa
Address: 1 Huyền Trân Công Chúa, Phường Bến Thành, Quận 1, Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam
📍 Google Maps: C’Gym Huyền Trân Công Chúa
First Impressions: Simple, Local and No-Frills

Let’s be clear, C’Gym isn’t trying to impress anyone.
It’s small, basic and a little old-school.
Located opposite Tao Dan Park, it feels more like a neighbourhood gym than a polished commercial fitness club.
There are no flashy interiors or rows of brand-new machines. Just locals training, personal trainers working with clients and travellers getting their workout done.
That simplicity is part of its appeal.
The Space: Small but Functional
The gym is compact but makes good use of the space.
There are free weights, benches, cable machines, a small stretching area and lockers, with air conditioning and fans keeping the gym comfortable during my morning workout.
The street outside is lined with fitness stores selling gym equipment and clothing, so you’ll know you’re in the right place.
There is also a football field out the front where local kids were training that morning. It was a nice little touch and something different to watch between sets.
Equipment: Older but Reliable
The equipment is definitely showing its age, but everything worked well during my workout.
There are enough benches, dumbbells, barbells, cable stations and machines to comfortably train your whole body. Dumbbells and barbells go up to 50 kg, which should suit most people.
The biggest limitation is heavy barbell training. There isn’t a dedicated deadlift platform or a traditional squat rack, so serious powerlifters will probably want something bigger.
For everyone else, there’s more than enough here to get a solid workout done.
What It Felt Like to Train Here
I trained here at around 8:00 AM on a Wednesday.
There were only five other people in the gym, and three were working with personal trainers.
It was quiet, relaxed and easy to move between equipment. There were no egos and no waiting around.
Compared with Gym One, I actually preferred training here. Gym One was more polished, and C’Gym offered better value and felt much more local. Check out my Gym One review to make your own conclusion. For me... sometimes you don’t need the biggest or newest gym, you just need the right space to get a good workout completed.
Communication
C’Gym is clearly more local than international, but I never felt uncomfortable or out of place as a traveller.
Membership and Pricing

When I visited, the day pass was 80,000 VND.
For a gym in the middle of District 1, I think that’s excellent value.
It’s considerably cheaper than many of the larger fitness clubs around Ho Chi Minh City and ideal if you’re travelling and simply want to keep your training going.
Bathrooms and Facilities
The facilities are basic.
There are showers, toilets, basins and lockers, but don’t expect luxury changing rooms.
Bring your own towel and toiletries.
One thing I did notice was that there were no cleaning sprays or wipes available for members to sanitise equipment after use, which was disappointing.
Bottled water, protein shakes and energy drinks were available to purchase at the counter.

Basic bathrooms and change rooms
No cleaning sprays or wipes during my visit
My Final Thoughts
I think C’Gym is excellent value.
It isn’t the newest gym in Ho Chi Minh City, but it doesn’t need to be.
The equipment worked, the atmosphere was relaxed and I enjoyed training here more than I expected.
If you’re staying around District 1 and just want somewhere affordable to keep your training going, I’d happily recommend it.
Would I train here again? Absolutely.
