Body Fit 88 – Hua Hin, Thailand

A medium-sized commercial gym located in central Hua Hin.

Gym entrance to Body Fit 88 HuaHin.

Day Pass Price: 300 THB

Address: 226/6 Hua Hin 88/2 Alley, Hua Hin, Hua Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan 77110, Thailand

First Impressions

Body Fit 88 is a large, commercial-style gym with a strong focus on equipment volume and space. From a facilities perspective, it has plenty going for it, a 1,000 m² air-conditioned training area, multiple zones, fitness classes and a wide range of machines.

However, from the moment we arrived, the experience felt less welcoming than other gyms we visited in Hua Hin. The staff were not overly friendly or engaging, and the overall vibe felt cold and impersonal. And for a 300 THB day pass, expectations were naturally higher, especially when comparing to other gyms in the area that offer a more welcoming atmosphere at a lower price point.

The Space

The gym is spread across a large footprint and is well laid out into clear sections:

• Fixed-weight machine zones

• Functional training and Hyrox-style area

• Cable and pulley zones

• Smith machines and squat racks

• Free-weight area

• Stretching area upstairs

The space itself has great potential. It’s clean, air-conditioned, and well-organised, with mirrors giving the gym an open feel. However, despite the size, the gym was busy and at times uncomfortable to navigate, especially around popular machines.

While there was no long waiting time for equipment during our visit, there was a noticeable lack of spatial awareness from some members, which impacted the overall comfort of training.

Facilities and Equipment

Facilities are solid and well maintained:

• Toilets, showers, and lockers

• Cleaning spray and wipes available

• Drink options available with a cafe onsite

• Fitness classes offered

The equipment selection is extensive, with approximately 70 commercial-grade machines. Most machines were older Cybex-style models, a little worn, but functional and maintained.

All machines provided a full range of movement, and despite their age, they were usable and effective for training.

Equipment Highlights

• Smith machines x3

• Squat rack

• Leg press

• Hack squat

• Multiple chest machines

• Multiple shoulder machines

• Reverse pec deck machine

• T-bar row

• Functional cable trainers ×2

• Dumbbells up to 50 kg

• Wide range of cable attachments

• Functional training area with battle ropes, TRX, kettlebells, medicine balls

• Cardio machines: treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, stair climber, rowing machine

My Workout Experience

I was looking forward to training here, especially given the size of the gym and the 300 THB day price. Unfortunately, the workout experience didn’t fully match expectations.

From the moment we arrived, I didn’t feel particularly comfortable or welcome. I also experienced an uncomfortable interaction with a male gym member who encroached on my personal space. This unsettled me enough that I ended my workout early and left the gym, something that rarely happens for me.

While the gym itself has strong equipment and a clean setup, the overall atmosphere and member behaviour significantly impacted my experience.

Hubby found the equipment selection more than sufficient for a solid session. However, he also noted that while the machines were plentiful, the overall vibe of the gym felt off and not particularly enjoyable to train in.

My Gym Review Rating

Body Fit 88 offers space, equipment, and facilities, but the overall experience didn’t justify the higher day pass price when compared to other gyms in Hua Hin.

My Final Word

Body Fit 88 has great potential. The space is large, the equipment selection is strong, and the facilities are clean and well maintained.

However, at 300 THB for a day pass, the lack of a welcoming atmosphere and the uncomfortable vibe during training make it hard to recommend over other gyms in Hua Hin. After reviewing multiple gyms in the area, I believe you can get a more enjoyable workout experience, with better value - elsewhere.

During our visit to Hua Hin, I trained at four local gyms, all very different in vibe, location, pricing, air-conditioning, and equipment. These reviews are designed to give you a clear and honest picture, so you can choose the gym that best fits your training style and comfort level.
