First Impressions
Fitster Club Ubon is a clean, modern gym located in the heart of Ubon Ratchathani. It’s well-maintained, fully air-conditioned, and feels professional and premium from the moment you walk in. The staff spoke very little English but were friendly and welcoming. The space is well organised, with everything neatly laid out in muscle groups and with plenty of variety for a complete workout. Besides from the gym, they also offer Pilates reformer classes, group classes and if you’re into cardio, there is a solid range of treadmills, bikes, and ellipticals.
Facilities and Equipment
Fitster Club offers a solid mix of pin-loaded and plate-loaded machines, alongside a decent free weights section. Most of the equipment is in excellent condition ,almost brand new.
The pin-loaded machines, while visually impressive, didn’t always provide the smoothest or most natural range of motion for muscle connection. In contrast, the plate-loaded equipment felt good, modern, biomechanically sound, and perfect for building strength however weight plates were limited, which was fine because it was quiet, but if the gym were busy, there might not be enough plates for all the plate-loaded machines.
Now for the free weights: dumbbells are in pounds, going up to 100 lbs, but they jump in 10-pound increments once they get heavier, good luck to anyone chasing that perfect in-between set as you climb to 100 lbs!
Equipment highlights:
Dumbbells (in pounds) up to 100 lbs, increasing in 10-lb increments
Plates in kilograms (limited supply could be an issue during busy times)
Cable machines ×2
Leg press – flat & high angle
Squat rack,
Hip thrust machine (I really struggled to get the activation on this machine!)
Abductor/adductor machines (I say "machines" because Thai's love these machines, there is always a minimum of each of the machines in every Thai gym I visit... there was 2 of each at this gym)
Leg extension & leg curl
Calf raise
Chest press (multiple angles), pec deck, shoulder press
Seated row, pulldown, incline lever row
Assisted pull-up
Functional zone with kettlebells, mats, steps, resistance bands
Cardio: treadmills, bikes, spin bikes, ellipticals
My Workout Experience
We trained at lunchtime mid-week and had the place mostly to ourselves. A few locals were training, and even though English was limited, everyone was friendly.
I loved the leg press and functional zone, both were set up well with plenty of space and good-quality gear. The pin-loaded machines didn’t quite hit the mark for me, but the plate-loaded ones made up for it.
Hubby trained chest with dumbbells and cables and was satisfied with the equipment providing a solid workout. Infact if you ask him, he would rate this gym his favourite from all the gyms we visited in Ubon Ratchathani. See my final word below for my personal fav gym location in Ubon Ratchathani.
My Gym Review Rating
Fitster Club Ubon is modern, clean, and friendly making it perfect for travellers who prefer comfort and good facilities. The day pass is slightly pricier than other local gyms (189 THB), but you’re paying for a cool, well-maintained, air-conditioned environment.

My Final Word:
During our stay in Ubon Ratchathani, I reviewed three gyms, Fitster Club, Home Gym, and French Gym. Each offered something different, and while French Gym was my personal favourite, you can read all three gym blogs to make your own conclusion about which suits your workout style best.
