First Impressions
Walking into this gym, I honestly thought the space looked too small to have much inside. I was wrong. This little local gym is packed with everything you need for a complete workout from functional equipment, machines, with enough variety to target every muscle group.
The team here were incredibly welcoming, kind, and smiling from the moment we walked in and a little English was spoken, which made communication easy.
Blackout curtains helped block out the midday heat while the air-con and fans worked together to keep the space at a comfortable temperature. We trained around midday and had the whole place almost to ourselves - just two other locals were there.
Facilities and Equipment
90s hip-hop video's played through the TV and speakers - my perfect go-to workout mix.
For a small gym, the setup was impressive. Every bit of floor space was used wisely, and the range of equipment was spot on. Everything was in good condition, and the movement on the machines felt smooth, allowing for great muscle connection through each rep.
The gym was clean and tidy, with cleaning spray and cloths available throughout. Lockers were available for storing belongings. There are no showers, but toilets were simple and clean.
At just 80 THB for a day pass, this gym is great value. It is located slightly outside the main area of Ubon Ratchathani, about a 10-minute Grab ride from our hotel.

My Workout Experience
I was really impressed by how much French Gym managed to fit into such a compact space.
My back workout was a success with every machine hitting exactly where it should. Hubby trained legs and had the same great experience. The gym had everything we needed: a full range of good-quality equipment, a clean environment, friendly staff, air-con and fans, and an unbeatable price. There’s not much to fault here. Of all the gyms I visited in Ubon Ratchathani, this one easily became my favourite.
My Gym Review Rating
French Gym - Ubon Ratchathani might be small, but it’s got heart, friendly faces, solid equipment, cool air-con, and a great vibe. It’s the perfect example of how a well-kept local gym can easily outperform bigger, more commercial setups. For 80 THB, it’s exceptional value.

My Final Word:
During our stay in Ubon Ratchathani, I reviewed three gyms - Fitster Club, Home Gym, and French Gym. Each offered something different, and while French Gym was my personal favourite, you can read all three gym blogs to make your own conclusion about which suits your workout style best.
