Day Pass Price: 90 THB (Air-conditioned area) / 50 THB (Undercover area)

First Impressions

Home Gym – Ubon Ratchathani is tucked down a small alley, it can be a little tricky for your Grab driver to locate, but once you enter the alley, you can't miss it. The team were friendly, kind, and spoke good English, clearly explaining the day-pass options and making us feel welcome from the start. Home Gym offers two workout areas, an undercover tin-roof section for 50 THB per day and an air-conditioned indoor gym for 90 THB per day. Obviously we opted for the air-conditioned space, which was only moderately cooler. The fans and AC worked hard but struggled slightly against the midday heat.

Facilities and Equipment

The gym was clean and well maintained, with cleaning stations and simple bathroom facilities including a toilet and shower.

Equipment highlights:

  • Two squat racks

  • Smith machine

  • Leg press

  • Five-station jungle gym (pull-downs, cable row, triceps, cables)

  • Dumbbells up to 40 kg

  • Multiple chest machines

  • Vertical and horizontal leg presses

  • Leg extension and leg curl

  • Hack squat

  • Hip abduction and calf machines

  • Multi-flight, ab, and pec fly machines

  • Arm curl and trap dip machines

  • Upper and lower back machines

  • Benches and cardio machines including a stepper and bikes

The equipment was in good condition and functioned well. There’s plenty of choice to rotate exercises and target each muscle group from multiple angles.

My Workout Experience

I trained chest, shoulders, and triceps during our visit and had no trouble finding machines for variation. Hubby trained back and biceps and was equally satisfied with the range and feel of the equipment. The space was a little warm, but the fans helped make it manageable. Other members were friendly and respectful. It’s not a flashy or commercial-style gym, but it’s got character, functionality, machines had a good range of movement and there was everything you need for a solid workout.

My Gym Review Rating

Home Gym is a genuine local gym that delivers a solid workout experience with friendly staff, a good range of equipment, and good value for money.

My Final Word:

During our stay in Ubon Ratchathani, I reviewed three gyms - Fitster Club, Home Gym, and French Gym. Each offered something different, and while French Gym was my personal favourite, you can read all three gym blogs to make your own conclusion about which suits your workout style best.
